Boys and Girls Club Closing Dates:

Fairland Owl Families,
Due to the timing of the predicted incoming weather, FPS will release school at 2:00 this afternoon, Thursday, January 9. Buses will run at that time to allow for safe return. Junior high basketball games with Wyandotte for tonight are canceled. There will be no school on Friday, January 10 at Fairland Public Schools. The homecoming game and homecoming activities with Commerce are canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date. Wrestling has been canceled for tonight, Thursday, Janurary 9th.

Fairland Owl Families,
As we approach the season for inclement weather, I would like to inform you that Fairland School Administration will be advised by the Ottawa County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service out of Tulsa. When possible, decisions to cancel school due to weather will be made the night before to allow for parents to make plans for supervision.
Parents will be notified of school closures through text, phone, Facebook, and our school website Live Feed. When decisions are made to cancel school, closure notifications will be posted on local television KOAM TV and KSN TV. Should the need arise to close school once the day has started, FPS elementary parents will be contacted through their child’s teachers communication app and parents will need to respond back to make arrangements to pick up their child. Middle School and High School students will contact their parents if transportation is needed. We do everything we can to avoid this situation, but there is always the possibility for incoming extreme weather events.
Mr. Johnson, Superintendent
