Counselor's Corner

With all the recent changes and delays to the 2024-2025 FAFSA we would like to share some information and resources with you.

The US Department of Education (ED) has committed to begin sending FAFSA information to colleges sometime during the first half of March 2024.  At that time, students who have already completed the 2024-2025 FAFSA will receive an email that their application has been processed and sent to their selected schools.  Students will also be able to view their FAFSA Submission Summary and make corrections at that time.

For students who have not yet filled out the 2024-2025 FAFSA here are some helpful links from ED.

Districts are asked to select their College- and Career-Readiness Assessment (CCRA) to administer to all 11th graders during the state OSTP testing window. Districts may choose either the ACT or SAT to fulfill state and federal requirements for Math and ELA testing. As a result, Fairland chooses to take the ACT because most colleges our students attend accept the ACT.  However, we do have to provide a survey regarding this affecting our current Juniors.  Please go to the link to take a 1 minute  survey regarding this.  Thank you!
